Peschiera di Feraxi in Muravera: "Urgent action needed to avoid fish deaths"

The interventions to be carried out at the Feraxi fishpond to avoid fish death are increasingly urgent: dredging to eliminate sand and opening the mouth to favor oxygenation are among the priorities identified during an inspection carried out by the regional councilors of the 'Agriculture and Environmental Protection, Valeria Satta and Marco Porcu, together with representatives of the Municipality of Muravera and the Fishermen's Cooperative.

«To guarantee the work of the fishermen , who have been unable to carry out their activity for two months , buffer interventions are no longer sufficient – added Satta -. Therefore, the Region wants to address and resolve this situation definitively , confirming its commitment to workers.

«As far as we are responsible, considering that the situation has decidedly worsened this year, we will proceed to evaluate the necessary authorizations as soon as possible, also inviting the competent Administrations to give immediate impetus to the procedures for moving the pier, so that, in a few year - concluded the commissioner Porcu -, further urgent interventions should not be carried out, but, in any case, temporary ».
