Medical records of patients at Santissima Trinità "abandoned in a dilapidated and damp building". The provincial secretary of Fials of Cagliari, Paolo Cugliara, explains what happens to the files with sensitive data of many Sardinians who turned to the Is Mirrionis hospital.

He also brings photos to accompany his complaint. You can see piles and piles of files stacked haphazardly in an environment that appears very degraded.

«The company that previously managed that material on behalf of the ASL went belly up», explains the trade unionist, « for a period the departments tried to keep the documentation inside their respective pavilions. Over time it also ended up in the bathrooms. But in the end it was necessary to move it."

Where and how? «In bulk, in a building in the upper part of the hospital», underlines Cugliara, «where there are water infiltrations».

But for the trade unionist «the evident sloppiness also corresponds to a serious disservice . There are patients who need medical records even years later to carry out treatment: it has already happened that someone has requested yours. If it is found, and it is difficult given the chaos, perhaps it was destroyed by water and humidity. There is only one word to define all this: unacceptable."
