"No to the closure of the Neurology unit of the Antonio Segni hospital in Ozieri ": this is the cry that was raised this morning during the sit-in promoted by the opposition councilors of the "Ozieri Civica" group, to which they also attended by the regional councilor of the Progressives, Gianfranco Satta, and the delegate of the association "Rare Diseases", Cristian Cadoni.

Satta's comment was tough: “These are the bitter fruits of a regional health reform carried out in the middle of the pandemic only to dismantle the previous one . A change not yet implemented that only creates an impasse as the company deeds of the new ASL have not yet been approved. In the meantime, the territorial centers that were previously open are closing, the municipalities and territories have been without general practitioners and pediatricians for months . Announcements are published to search for hired doctors and announcements to select fixed-term neurology doctors. In the local health authorities, drivers and warehouse workers are hired on an indefinite basis and not medical personnel, in the absence of any trade union consultation, as seen opposed. Dealing with health care does not only mean aiming to build new hospitals, the focus must be placed on services, first and foremost while maintaining existing ones ".

The occasion was useful for the exponents of Ozieri Civica, Marco Murgia, Anastasia Ladu, Gian Luigi Sotgia, Davide Giordano and Gigi Sarobba to reiterate their thoughts: "In our opinion, Neurology is not kept open, giving the blame to Arru and repeating that there are no doctors. Instead, serious proposals are needed on the rationalization of services, given the resources available, which are not visible on the horizon. Finally, we emphasize that we have no intention of shirking our duty. It is precisely in this way that minorities can support the action of those who instead have the responsibility to govern because they are in the majority ”.
