Discoveries of burials in the adjacent cemetery of the Basilica, fragments of ceramics, coins, jewelery and everyday objects: these are some of the results of the latest archaeological excavations carried out in the Basilica of Sant'Antioco di Bisarcio in the countryside of Ozieri.

«Everything was presented in the civic archaeological museum "Alle Clarisse", in the presence of more than one hundred people. Not a technicality, but with a language understandable to all, some of the research coordinators presented the results and the exhibition - declared the director of the excavation, the full professor of medieval archeology at the University of Sassari, Marco Milanese -. A small piece of social sharing of the research results, even in the presence - as always happened - of the political representatives of the citizens. The technical and scientific data are published in scientific journals and are available there for scholars. In these sharing venues in the area, the scientific data - necessary for researchers - are "translated" and communicated to the public with the necessary and appropriate fluency and lightness, useful for capturing and maintaining the attention of the audience".

«The excavations, conducted on land partly in the Municipality and partly in the Diocese, brought to light various finds from various periods, a sign of a lively and enterprising local community, which was already trading with both the Iberian Peninsula, the Hellenic world and the western Mediterranean", declared the mayor of Ozieri, Marco Peralta.
