Today the first stone was laid for the construction of the first Community House in Sardinia in Macomer. This is thanks to a collaboration agreement created between the municipal administration of Macomer and the management of the ASL of Nuoro. Leading the way, and the hope is that the example will be followed in all the municipalities of Marghine, is the general practitioner Teresa Bucciarelli, general practitioner, who has in fact anticipated an innovation foreseen by a ministerial decree. Dr. Bucciarelli, who is also a majority municipal councilor, has moved her clinic to the new premises of the Nuraghe Ruiu Polyclinic, maintaining the same opening days and hours. The doctor specializing in general medicine, Laura Foddai, has also been working in the Nuraghe Ruggiu facility for a few years.

"In fact, the new model of territorial health is being launched, as outlined in the ministerial decree that provides for the creation of the Community House", says the director of the district, Maria Giovanna Porcu. "The hope is therefore to move from a waiting medicine model to the more contemporary one, based on proactive medicine". Mayor Riccardo Uda adds: " The Municipality of Macomer is doing its part with conviction and in a decisive manner to strengthen territorial health services . The presence of General Practitioners in a context such as that of the Nuraghe Ruiu health facility which hosts numerous services, will be able to guarantee the achievement of this objective. At the same time, we are carefully following all the emergencies still open starting from the absence in the territory of the service of the free choice Pediatrician on which we are working to find a solution as soon as possible".

However, the problems remain, which were examined in a well-attended public meeting with the mayors of the area , which took place on Monday evening in Macomer, organized by the Committee for the Protection of Health in Marghine. In the meeting, the problems related to children were highlighted in particular. In the whole of Marghine, in fact, there are about 810 children without a pediatrician. Not only that. The analysis laboratory was discussed, closed since 2016, with the structure transformed into a simple blood sampling center, where for a few days no more than 35 patients per day are accepted. There is a lack of specialists and the entire public health system is suffering greatly, with long waits for specialist visits. The mobilization remains in place and we await the meeting called in Cagliari by Anci Sardegna for December 10.
