"For peace. Con la cura”, the solidarity project towards the construction of a responsible citizenship lasted a year and now hundreds of students from Olbia, from all the middle and high schools of the towns, are ready to face the end of the journey by taking part in the Peace March Perugia-Assisi which will be held on Sunday 21 May.

Leaving yesterday evening, the large delegation (over 220 people) will first stop in Florence and then continue to the Umbrian center where they will meet Don Mirko Barone, the group's spiritual guide who has a small community in Assisi, with whom they will attend mass in the chapel of Santa Caterina, in the lower Basilica. After the visit to the city and to the sanctuary of Blessed Carlo Acutis, tomorrow afternoon the group will participate in the "National Meeting for Peace" at the Convent of San Francesco. The key moment will be Sunday morning when the boys from Olbia will face the last stretch of the March (from the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli) wearing the shirt with the colors of the Ukrainian flag, created by the Liceo Artistico “F. De André ", and will participate in the entertainment activities on stage by presenting their performances, including the suggestive Ave Maria in Sardinian.

Since 2018 Olbia has been part of the National Coordination of Local Authorities for Peace and Human Rights. «The boys worked all year on the 15 exercises of the notebook of peace - underlines the deputy mayor Sabrina Serra, first supporter of the project also praised by Bishop Sanguinetti during the recent homily in honor of San Simplicio - The theme is the cure: of others, of the environment, of the world. The goal is to become aware citizens with rights, duties and responsibilities, being part of a community. During this journey, the meeting, in Rome, with the Holy Father and listening to his words were fundamental».
