The new territorial continuity for Sardinia should start from February: the announcement was published in the European Official Journal.

Meanwhile, after the Ognissanti bridge there is (or almost) desert in the booking screens for flights to and from Sardinia that should be guaranteed by Volotea: only one connection a day with Milan from Cagliari, zero from Olbia . On Rome it goes better, albeit slightly: three take-offs planned from the capital and two from the Costa Smeralda.

Farewell to the same day round trip, if the chosen stopover is Linate: from Cagliari we leave at 5 pm, from Milan the only flight operated by the Spanish company is at 6:55 pm.

We must fall back on another carrier, which covers the uncovered routes. In other words, on Ita, which guarantees that the connections with the capital are 4. Here Volotea will restart, according to the booking table, starting from 15 December.

On the card, Volotea and Ita had guaranteed coverage of the connections in continuity until May 2023. In recent weeks, both had announced the stop to the guarantees (without compensation) as early as February: the communication had reached the Region with two separate letters , but perhaps agreed, which among the reasons also included the expensive fuel.

Today in the official European gazette the communication of the publication of the call for new continuity has appeared: the connections with compensation charges must be guaranteed from 17 February 2023 to 26 October 2024. Interested companies must submit their offers by 27 December.
