Arrested yesterday in Ossi by the Carabinieri for aggravated theft and unauthorized possession of altered keys or lock picks.

On Sunday, the police were called to find an Opel Crossland stolen from Corso Trinità in Sassari by a suspect who took advantage of the owner's entry into a tobacconist's to steal it.

Shortly thereafter, a Nissan Juke was reported missing in Ossi. The search intensified in Ossi, where the Carabinieri stopped a young man driving the Opel. The search uncovered a backpack containing various break-in tools, such as shears, scissors, and pliers, presumably used to force open car doors. According to the police, the same man also stole the Nissan, but was discovered by some of the owner's acquaintances, who managed to scare him away, forcing him to abandon the car. Inside the Nissan, law enforcement found the keys to another car, an Alfa Romeo Mito, which the suspect had attempted to steal, also in Ossi.

Today the man appeared in court in Sassari for a summary hearing, where his arrest was validated, house arrest was ordered, and an electronic bracelet was applied.
