Prosecutor Angelo Beccu and the Carabinieri of the Ozieri Company have pulled off a major coup . The discovery of an arsenal in the countryside of Oschiri could be the investigative step that led to the theft of a gang's entire arsenal, intended for an assault on an armored vehicle or other robbery. The position of Luigi Masia, 36, from Oschiri, remains to be verified.
According to the Sassari Prosecutor's Office, the man was in charge of the arsenal, and today (assisted by criminal lawyer Pietro Diaz) Masia will have to explain to the investigating judge why war weapons and ammunition were inside a building he owned . Meanwhile, the investigating judge himself has validated the arrest, ordering his detention in prison.
The investigation is much broader and could immediately involve other individuals with roles different and more important than that of the arrested person. The key issue is the arsenal, and the investigation is starting now (it is not excluded that prosecutors from the Cagliari Anti-Mafia Directorate are also working on it).
Among the items that immediately attracted the attention of the Carabinieri (army personnel coordinated by Captain Gabriele Tronca) were the Beamshot laser pointer and the telephone jammer (frequency jamming device) with eight antennas. All the material will now be handed over to RIS specialists.
