The ASL's appeal is timely, but now it's even stronger. "The holiday months are upon us, but don't forget a gesture of solidarity, even more important during this time." Dr. Mauro Murgia, director of the blood transfusion center
of the San Martino Hospital in Oristano, invites all citizens to donate blood during the summer. "Every summer on our island, the demand for blood bags from hospitals increases, also due to the presence of tourists. This is why we must not stop donating." In Oristano, you can visit the San Martino Hospital transfusion center from Monday to Saturday, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Noappointment is required. Dr. Murgia also specified: "Only at our location can we also obtain a unit of platelets from the same bag, needed for hematologic oncology patients. It is important to donate blood. It is a show of solidarity, which allows us to continue meeting the needs of the citizens of our area." But that's not all. As always, it will also be possible to donate in many towns. Fourteen blood collection days are organized in July by volunteers from local Avis chapters, always in collaboration with the San Martino Hospital transfusion center in Oristano. Here are the dates: Saturday, July 4th in Bauladu, Sunday, July 5th in Ghilarza and Terralba, Saturday, July 11th in Mogoro, Sunday, July 12th in Marrubiu and San Vero Milis, Friday, July 27th in Santulussurgiu, Saturday, July 18th in Sedilo, and Sunday, July 19th in Terralba and San Nicolò d'Arcidano. Also on Wednesday, July 22nd in Bosa, Saturday, July 25th in Paulilatino, and Sunday, July 26th in Arborea and Milis. The general director of ASL 5, Dr. Grazia Cattina, added: "We will never finish thanking our loyal donors from across the province, but we always look forward to new ones. Donating is agesture that benefits both the recipient and the donor."
