A few days earlier than initial forecasts, the new bridge over the Tirso river reopens today.
Since February 19th, the workers had been busy replacing some damaged joints and provincial road 54 (which had only been passable in the left lane since January 11th) was closed to traffic.
Inevitable queues and protests from motorists leaving Oristano, forced to divert onto the provincial road 93 towards Silì (provisionally one-way traffic) or onto the Brabau bridge to reach the Rimedio and from there the other destinations.
The closure order for the bridge had been in place until March 9th, but the Provincial offices have announced that the intervention has been completed and traffic can return to normal by the end of the morning.
