The accusation of a 60-year-old resident of Oristano, who was arrested yesterday by the Mobile Police Station on the orders of the Oristano Public Prosecutor's Office, is of multiple aggravated sexual violence against minors.

In 2016, the victim, a girl who was 12 at the time, was informally entrusted to him and his wife by a family friend. For the teenager it was the beginning of a nightmare: the person who was supposed to take care of her had started to rape her, abuses that would go on for years. At least until 2020, when the young woman confided in a peer of the same age. The friend could not bear the weight of the secret and raised the alarm, which immediately arrived at the police.

Immediate investigations to verify what the victim said. Apparently it was all true: the man, perpetually drunk, raped her both in the house where he lived with his wife (taking advantage of his moments of absence) and in a seaside resort of Oristano where he spent his holidays. Then he showered her with gifts, trying to ensure her silence.

Yesterday the arrested, in front of the investigating judge and the prosecutor who coordinated the investigations, during the guarantee questioning held in the Massama prison decided to make use of the right not to answer. He was then taken back to prison where he will remain, in custody, pending trial.

For the very serious facts disputed, the investigators let us know, "the man will have to answer for multiple aggravated sexual violence because it was committed to the detriment of a child under the age of 14, through abuse of domestic relationships and for having caused the child, due to the recurrence of the conduct, serious injury ".
