Oristano, grazed by the train, ends up on the ground: an elderly man dies

The worst outcome has arrived for the search for Nino Foddis, 78 years old, who had disappeared this morning from his home in Silì, in Oristano.

The man, who suffered from some pathologies, was found dead along the tracks next to the level crossing in the Oristano area.

The dynamics of the facts are still unclear. The presence of the body at that point would have been reported by the passenger of a convoy . The seventy-eight year old may have been hit already this morning, but by another train. Or in any case bumped, and then ending up on the ground with a fatal fall.

At the end of the identification procedures and investigations, Foddis' body was returned to the family members who had been looking for him, also making an appeal to social media for help in the search.

The repercussions on railway traffic are inevitable, with trains canceled or heavily delayed. Traffic returned to normal only in the late afternoon.
