He wanted to ease his wife Stefania's pain and decided to accompany the most beautiful moment of his life with sweet, delicate music. This time, in the corridors of the obstetrics ward at San Martino Hospital in Oristano, there was a piano, a chair, and a musician who was about to become a father.

This is the story of Andrea Scano, 34, a music teacher at Santa Giusta, and his wife , Stefania Porcu, who was in labor. Amidst pain and anxiety, he placed his instrument outside the room and began playing, until their baby girl was born, lulled by the piano. This unusual scene, filmed by staff in the Gynecology department, moved everyone present.

"We arrived at the hospital on the morning of July 24th, " says new father Andrea. " I started playing when labor began. Between breaks, I stayed at the piano for about seven hours. I chose the song 'River Flows in You' by Yiruma, which evokes rivers and water." When the time came for the birth, the musician joined his wife, and after Ginevra was born, he returned to playing, cradling his daughter to the notes of his piano.

"For me," she says, "it was an honor to be able to do all this." For the department, it was an unforgettable day. There were tears in the eyes of the doctors, nurses, and even the other mothers hospitalized in the ward. All this was possible thanks to the willingness of the medical directors , who, upon receiving Andrea Scano's request to give this gift to his wife, gave their consent without hesitation.
