He is accused of aggravated fraud for having deceived customers into buying financial products, according to the Ponzi scheme. Giuseppe Camedda, a 37-year-old policeman, according to the prosecutor of Oristano Armando Mammone, would have practiced the activity of financial consultant without having the title. In particular, two customers (civil parties in the proceeding) invested 5 thousand euros each without having any return. For this reason, the prosecutor asked for a two-year sentence.
The defense's request is different. The lawyer Gianfranco Siuni argued that there would be no fraud, neither scams nor deceptions. There was no mislead but, according to the defense, the clients had signed up voluntarily.
On the other charge, then, the defense argued that Camedda did not practice as a consultant in a professional manner, given that his activity is different. Reasons for which the lawyer Siuni has asked for Camedda's acquittal.
Judge Federica Fulgheri postponed the sentence to April 13. In that hearing he will also rule on the request for indictment that the prosecutor reiterated for the other two suspects, Peppino Dessì and Barbara Cossu, assisted by the lawyer Oriana Colomo.
