The phone call from the daughter to the municipal police of Oristano saves the life of an 80-year-old who lives alone in an apartment in the northern district of the city. Yesterday morning the pensioner had a serious illness and was unable to call or even answer the phone calls of his daughter who every day from the Peninsula, where she lives, never failed to hear from the elderly parent. Alarmed by the empty rings, she called the Municipal Police Operations Center which quickly went to the address where the pensioner lives.

«The door was half closed», underlines the commander of the local police Gianni Uras, «but blocked from the inside. A policeman managed to enter the apartment through a window while two others with difficulty passed through the door blocked by the owner, who had collapsed close to him due to illness. The situation appeared worrying, the gentleman was breathing with difficulty and was severely dehydrated . The 118 medical ambulance rushed and transferred, after stabilization, the patient first to the San Martino emergency room and then to the ward. The conditions have improved and his life is not in danger"

"The call and quick intervention in such cases are essential," explains Uras, who reassured his daughter about her father's health conditions and communicated that the keys to the apartment are kept in the premises of the police in via Carmine.
