The historical reenactment around the military stronghold, and the novelty of the statue of Peace, were the new attractions that made the third edition of Open Monuments in Stintino a real success, confirming once again the importance of enhancing the cultural and historical heritage of the area.
During the event, residents and visitors had the opportunity to discover hidden corners and monuments of great value, often little known to the general public and not accessible during the year. The event saw the active collaboration of numerous associations of volunteers, students, parents and teachers, who accompanied visitors through guided tours, insights and moments of sharing.
The feedback was very positive: there was an increase in visits compared to previous editions and a strong involvement of families and students, who took advantage of the opportunity to learn and have fun together. During this edition, 7 historical sites were opened to the public: the Caposaldo Stretto Stintino, also enriched this year by the installation curated by the Nel Vivo della Storia association, which recorded a total of 151 visitors, the Nuraghe di Unia (part of the Sentieri Nuragici route) with 109 visitors, the Mut - Museo della Tonnara with 180 visitors, the Porto Museo delle Vele Latine with 164 visitors, the Statua della Pace with 149 visitors and the Casa della Confraternita with 123 visitors. In addition, the trekking experience to Torre Falcone curated by the Gruppo Speleo Ambientale Sassari involved 56 participants, offering a different way to discover the area.
Councilor for Culture Marta Diana said: «We are very satisfied with this third edition of Monumenti Aperti. It was exciting to see so much participation and interest in our cultural heritage. This type of initiative is essential to strengthen the sense of community and to make the beauties of Stintino known to residents and visitors. We will continue to invest in culture and in the promotion of the territory to grow this tradition. I would particularly like to thank the Superintendence of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape for the provinces of Sassari and Nuoro, the Archaeology and Territory Laboratory of the Uniss, the teachers, parents, citizen volunteers and all the Associations involved in the education of our children».
The active participation and enthusiasm demonstrated demonstrate how important it is to continue promoting initiatives like this one, which unite culture, education and sociality.
