«This year, for the first time, the Municipality of Arzachena joins the Open Monuments circuit». The announcement was made by the delegate for Culture, Valentina Geromino.

The initiative offers free guided tours of the monumental Il Fungo rock, symbol of the city (from 10am to 12pm and from 5pm to 7pm), to the Michele Ruzittu civic museum (from 10am to 1pm and from 4pm to 7pm) and to the Li necropolis Muri (10am to 6pm) together with the students of Comprehensive Institutes 1 and 2 of Arzachena, with the involvement therefore "of young boys and girls in the role of guides".

The choice therefore fell, Geromino continues, «on three important places of Arzachenese culture: the "Il Fungo" geosite as an element rich in history and characteristic of our landscape, the Li Muri necropolis as a pre-Nuragic monument already included in the Tentative List UNESCO as part of the initiative curated by Cesim entitled "Art and architecture in the Prehistory of Sardinia" and the Michele Ruzittu Civic Museum, where around 200 archaeological finds are exhibited as part of the exhibition entitled "Time rediscovered".

The event takes place over the weekend from 11th to 12th May and is organized with the collaboration of the Aquilegia association and the municipal company Geseco. It should also be remembered, as part of the virtual archeology cultural initiatives, that on Thursday 9 May, in the Nexus Space in via San Pietro, at 11.30 am, the CNR will present a new 3D reconstruction of the archaeological sites of the nuragic village La Prisgiona and of the Li Muri megalithic circle.
