Oliena, man slips into canal and hits head; found dead hours later

He was found lying in about 50 centimeters of water, inside a canal on the outskirts of Oliena . The victim is Giovannino Cacceddu, 66 years old, born in 1959, originally from the town .

The man had been missing since yesterday evening , and the search began after his family reported him. The tragic discovery was made this morning: his body was found on Via Masiloghi, on the outskirts of town .

According to initial reconstructions, Cacceddu accidentally slipped into the canal, hitting his head and drowning shortly thereafter . Carabinieri officers from the Nuoro branch and the Oliena station responded to the scene, carrying out surveys and launching investigations to clarify the exact circumstances of the incident.
