Luigina Fois , the eighty-eight year old from Oliena who had been transferred to the hospital in Sassari after almost two months of agony, died on 7 November last year and was hospitalized in the intensive care unit of San Francesco di Nuoro for a deep wound to the back of her neck.

The woman had initially recovered , and had come out of the coma, for this reason she was transferred to the Sassari hospital, where a few days ago her conditions evidently worsened again until she died.

At first it was thought to be an accident . But his son Salvatore Franceschi , 58, had provided unclear versions of the incident. Until the total admission before the prosecutor Riccardo Belfiori and the men of the Nuoro Flying Squad, of his responsibilities, two weeks later, which had taken him from the hospital - where he too had been hospitalized following an illness - to the Badu prison 'e Carros where he is currently still being held.

The man finally confessed to having had yet another argument with his mother, invalid and blind, and to have grabbed an ax, with which he hit her hard . A violent blow, which could have proved fatal. Now Franceschi's position could be aggravated: the murder, which up to now had been attempted, has been completed. It will be an expert report, which will certainly be entrusted by the Nuoro prosecutor's office, to establish whether there is a correlation between the death which occurred two months later and the aggression of the son.
