The trial of Davide Iannelli has opened in Sassari in the Court of Assizes , accused of having set fire to a neighbor in Olbia, Tony Cozzolino , who died in hospital from burns.

The proceeding opened with a series of objections from the legal defense of Iannelli , who was absent from the courtroom . The first concerns precisely the refusal to take part in the hearings of the defendant who, according to the lawyers, would suffer from borderline personality disorder . And now the defenders are also asking for an expert report to establish whether, at the material time, the defendant was capable of understanding and wanting.

For the Court, which rejected all the lawyers' requests, the abbreviated procedure is not admissible and "regarding Iannelli's psychological state - replied the prosecutor Daniele Rosa - the state of prostration and depression is understandable, but does not prevent his presence in hearings".

The reference is to the yellow connected - in some way - to this process: the disappearance last November of his wife, Rosa Bechere. The body has never been found. Two neighbors of the woman's house were investigated and never arrested .
