Great enthusiasm and participation characterized the 39th edition of the unmissable “Teresa Meloni” Ecological Cycling, organized by the Terranova-Fancello Cicli Cycling Society.

The festive swarm of families, children and two-wheeled athletes crossed the streets of Olbia for around two hours up to the Fausto Noce Park, where the awards ceremony and distribution of souvenir plaques were held. As announced, over 1000 official participants and 10,000 euros raised, partly donated to the Olbia section of AIDO (the Italian association for the donation of organs, tissues and cells), in its fortieth year of activity.

As usual, all the largest groups were rewarded; starting with Aido and the P. Secchi Oncology Association, the Media “A.Diaz” and the “Deffenu” Technical Institute for schools, the Terranova cycling club followed by Olbia Rugby among the sports groups, the Municipality of Olbia, the “Pincar” concessionaire ” and Cipnes among the “corporate” groups. The Pattada cycling club wins the prize for the largest group arriving from outside the city. Giobbe Uccula (87 years old) won the trophy as the oldest participant, while Mr Pidinchedda received the trophy as the most frequent participant with 35 participations in 39 editions to his credit. The Derosas-Deagustini families then wanted to pay homage to the Oncology department of Olbia Hospital with a plaque in memory of Simona Derosas; plaques also commemorate the precious collaboration of the volunteers on the route to the Local Police, Anpana and Ages.

Also in this edition there was the presence of many non-members, over 120, a phenomenon that the company has stigmatized since by not paying the registration fee a portion is taken away from the contribution that Pedalata collects for voluntary associations. Among all the official members there will be a draw for 4 bicycles and 10 homewear prizes.
