Stop alcohol, all day and until the end of the year, in the public spaces of the historic center of Olbia and some surrounding streets. It is the new ordinance signed by the mayor, Settimo Nizzi, against malamovida and excessive alcohol consumption, considered the main cause of repeated episodes of disorder in the city's nightlife district.

Twenty days after the ordinance that lowers the shutters, from 8pm to 7am, of all neighborhood shops with a license to sell alcohol, the mayor has cracked down on anti-alcohol bans and has extended the measure to new streets of the city. In addition to banning alcohol on the sidewalks and benches of the Regina Margherita, Matteotti, Mercato and Brigata Sassari squares, in Corso Umberto, and in the Regina Elena, Acquedotto, Dettori, Bari, Vittorio Veneto, Armando Diaz, Fiume d'Italia and San Simplicio, the mayor has also extended the provision to Piazza Crispi and Piazza Sangallo.

"Following reports and events that have occurred - commented Nizzi - the need has emerged to continue with actions aimed at protecting social tranquility, the quality of life and the health of our fellow citizens". The measure was taken, in light of the positive effects in terms of safety resulting from the adoption of previous ordinances which imposed restrictions on the consumption and sale of alcoholic beverages, to consolidate the results achieved and maintain the monitoring activities by the forces of the 'order.
