Olbia, inspection of the shipyard destroyed by flames: part of the warehouse collapses
The accident occurred during the expert assessment by the PM's consultantsThe Tempio Pausania prosecutor's office will conduct a lengthy and demanding technical investigation into the fire that destroyed the Nautica Acqua shipyard in Olbia on April 22nd. Today, prosecutor Claudia Manconi's consultants, Cagliari-based engineer Antonio Angelo Porcu and his Genoa-based colleague Federico Sommella, entered the Cala Saccaia site for the first time.
Also present were lawyers Stefano Oggiano and Marco Petitta, representing the defendants, and Mariano Mameli, representing the owners of the yachts destroyed by the flames. During the inspections, a large fragment of the uppermost section of the warehouse broke off. It is impossible to enter the shipyard without a mask due to the unbearable smell and fumes. The site cleanup alone will be extremely expensive.
The consultants' attention focused on the fire's starting points, near a yacht owned by the Olbia-based company Maori. The owners of the Maori shipyard, represented by lawyers Sebastiano Giaquinto, Giuseppe Farris, and Giampaolo Murrighile, deny all charges, as do the Nautica Acqua shipyard, represented by Stefano Oggiano. The Fire Department has filed a report accompanied by drone images.
