Mayor Settimo Nizzi conferred honorary citizenship on the entrepreneur Vittorio Marzano this morning in the Giunta room in Olbia . Attributed on May 14, 2007, as dated in parchment, the mayor formalized it today and read the reasons: " For merits of personality and for his work carried out in favor of the city, having maintained a constant professional and emotional bond with it ".

Marzano is the owner of the Fiamma 2000 Group , which with the company Sarda Reti Gas manages the gas distribution and sales service on the network in Sardinia; his family arrived in Olbia in 1929. A history closely linked to the Island of Tavolara where he acquired land and the Art Nouveau villa which belonged to the Tamponi family.

“I am truly honored and happy with this citizenship. My grandfather bought the land in 1929, now we are in the fifth generation - said the entrepreneur -. We have a special love for this city where we tried to do things in a serious and honest way, among other things we were pioneers building the first gas network in Sardinia right here in Olbia ".

During the ceremony, the entrepreneur relaunched the Olbia Lng terminal srl project, which sees him among the promoters. Supported by the mayor Nizzi, the project involves the construction of a LNG deposit, with an adjoining power plant, which should be built in the industrial area, on the land acquired by Cipnes. Marzano, answering some questions, reiterated his firm position regarding unregulated hiking activities in his private land on the island of Tavolara . “We are willing to open a table between the interested parties - he said - because it is everyone's good. Everything, however, must be regulated correctly ”.
