A fire broke out this afternoon inside the "Spiritu Santu" eco-centre in Olbia: two firefighting teams intervened to tackle the emergency.

The blaze, the origin of which is still under investigation, affected the facility's fleet of vehicles. Prompt intervention prevented the fire from spreading to the waste piles and surrounding structures.

The fire damaged two vehicles essential to the management of the center: an articulated spider grab and a tractor for road trailers.
No injuries or casualties were reported. The investigation is being conducted by the Olbia Carabinieri.
