Towards accreditation, the Archaeological Museum of Olbia lacks a director to be included in the national and regional museum system . Yesterday, the City Council approved the documents prepared for the appointment of the figure who will be selected through a public tender.

"By the summer we should have a general director who will allow the museum to be valorized," said the mayor, Settimo Nizzi, specifying that the absence of a director has imposed free admission, causing damage to the municipal coffers, and an often uncontrolled use of the spaces that, for some months, have been the subject of renovation.

Inaugurated in 2006, the museum houses the city's cultural heritage and will be enriched with a new multimedia room with 135 seats.

Among the items on the agenda, also the changes to the General Regulation of Social Services , in force since 2012, streamlined to make it more usable for users and more responsive to the changing needs of the community. "The philosophy that inspires the new Regulation is the sense of responsibility on the part of the user, who does not passively receive support: for example, specific provisions have been introduced with respect to the placement of minors aimed at facilitating the maintenance of relationships with the family of origin", explained the president of the Social Services council commission, Maria Antonietta Cossu.

During the session, the announcement by the group leader of Olbia Democratica, Ivana Russu, of the constitution of the Partito Democratico group which brings together all the Democratic councilors who, in the 2021 municipal elections, had split into two lists, ending up separated on the benches of the minority: the birth of the new formation will be ratified in the next City Council.
