Dozens of children ended up in hospital in Olbia following food poisoning. On the basis of the investigations arranged by the specialists of John Paul II, bacterial agents such as Escherichia Coli and Salmonella would have been detected.

The hypothesis is therefore that the small players of Atletico Olbia, Olbia Calcio and Polisportiva Porto Rotondo have eaten contaminated food: a reconstruction that has yet to be definitively ascertained.

The children of the Piccoli Amici category (2013) had taken part in an event organized at the Caocci stadium from Porto Rotondo. After the competitions, they consumed sandwiches, water and fruit juices inside a space, with a gazebo, which is located in the perimeter of the stadium. However, it cannot be excluded that the contamination occurred on the surfaces where the food was placed and that the problem does not concern the preparation of the food.

Parents ask for clarification on the case.
