Stop alcohol in the historic center: the mayor of Olbia, Settimo Nizzi, with an ordinance signed this morning, prohibits the consumption of alcoholic beverages of any strength in the city's nightlife district.

Until January 15th, in Piazza Regina Margherita, in Piazza Matteotti, in the stretch of via Regina Elena that connects the two squares, in Piazza Mercato and in the stretch of via Acquedotto that joins it with Piazza Matteotti, it is forbidden to drink alcohol and spirits for all day (including night) and takeaway sales are also banned from 7pm to 8.30am.

The consumption of alcohol is permitted only in the areas designated for its administration, including outdoor areas. The measure adopted by the mayor is aimed at protecting public order and urban decorum.

«The historic center area has recently been the scene of some episodes that compromise the common rules of civil life, caused, in most cases, by the prolonged and excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages», explained Nizzi.
