After twenty years, the lands of Mount Ortobene , over 860 hectares of greenery, will return to the management of Forestas . "It is not just an administrative act, it is a responsible choice for future generations ", assured the President of the Region Todde, who welcomes with satisfaction the transition from the Municipality of Nuoro to the Regional Agency of lands not burdened by civic use.

The 15-year agreement was signed this morning free of charge between the Municipality of Nuoro, owner of the lands acquired during the term of Mayor Carlo Forteleoni, the Forestas Agency and the Region, which propose common goals and will have as its objective the actions of care, protection and conservation of the forestry heritage, biodiversity and landscape, the defense of forestry and silvo-pastoral systems from environmental risks and forest fires, the productive, tourist, recreational and cultural enhancement of the natural heritage, the promotion of technological innovation and culture in the forestry sector and the support of information, awareness and environmental education activities.

The land will become part of the Nuorese forest complex, Monte Ortobene - Jacu Piu di Nuoro forestry garrison. The total area that will be granted is 860.16 hectares, entirely subject to hydrogeological constraints . The step forward, for Todde, is «above all, a political choice that focuses on environmental sustainability, the enhancement of the territory and the tourist relaunch of our natural heritage . An agreement that marks a concrete step in the direction of environmental sustainability, the protection of our forestry heritage and the tourist relaunch of the territory».
