The president of Nugoro spa, Elena Carta, does not hide her satisfaction with an achievement which represents an absolute novelty in Sardinia. In the morning, the Province's subsidiary company unveiled the "technological register" which will allow the provincial road network to be constantly improved and monitored.

The conference "Management and maintenance of road infrastructures", held in the main hall of the university headquarters of the Barbagia capital, made it possible to understand the importance of the new tool, created by a specialized company (Rodeco group). «We want to move from “retrospective maintenance”, focused on emergencies, to planned and scheduled maintenance - specifies Elena Carta -. This is the most important thing in our road register." The CEO of Nugoro spa, Antonello Basolu, adds: «Now, when we go to carry out maintenance, we will have a clear idea of the roads, kilometer by kilometre, meter by metre. In this way we will be able to intervene quickly." The state of the asphalt will be monitored in real time, as will the bumps, the shoulders and the signs. The interventions will be in the name of sustainability. «We have gold on our roads - concludes Andrea Bianco of AbiCert -. We must learn to valorise it, starting from old bitumen."
