«It is now indeferrable to send fresh and permanent forces to the province of Sassari and, in particular, to the garrisons of Olbia and Alghero where, unlike other localities, control of the territory must be guaranteed by the State Police over all 24 hours. hours, every day and for all the months of the year: in those realities, as in other neighboring areas, summer reinforcements are not enough".

Thus Vincenzo Chianese, secretary of Es Polizia who, connecting the cry of pain that comes from the Sardinian policemen with the legitimate requests of the citizens of the north of the island, also received by administrators and parliamentarians representing the territories concerned, sent a heartfelt appeal to the new Chief of Police Pisani, who takes office today, asking for a reversal of the trend unfortunately recorded in recent years also for the location of the Cpr in Macomer, in the province of Nuoro, which Es Polizia disapproves of.

«The increase in personnel registered in Nuoro in the last two years has in any case proved to be insufficient for the real needs of the Centre», echoes Giovanni Cabras, regional secretary , who continues: «The exponential increase in the expulsions of hosted migrants, which must be accompanied to Olbia or Cagliari, and the permanent derogation from the national contractual rules on service hours never accepted by us, is heavily compressing the rights of the policemen, forced to be engaged off-site for three consecutive shifts starting with the night shift , with serious psychophysical stress and the consequent risks of accidents in service». "With two distinct notes - conclude the representatives of ES Police - we therefore earnestly asked the new Chief of Police to strengthen the province of Sassari and, in particular, the capital and the principals of Olbia and Alghero while, waiting to transfer the Cpr in proximity of a provincial capital with an adjacent airport, to provisionally assign new staff rates to the Nuoro Police Headquarters which allow it to manage the services connected to the migratory phenomenon in compliance with the rights of the policemen".
