“No to the slaughter of animals”. The writing stands out in via Pietro Leo, on the railing that surrounds the park of Monte Urpinu. It bears the signature of the anti-species animal rights activists, who today together with about 200 Cagliari have gathered at the entrance of the Cagliari oasis to protest against the killing of birds, decided by the ASL due to the avian flu epidemic discovered following the death of a dozen peacocks.

A compound event, which was also attended by children. From the street you point the finger at those who, according to the participants, should have monitored the health of the birds in the park, to avoid what is called a useless "massacre".

A local police patrol was also guarding the roads. Brief moment of tension when a protester decided to break the chains that bar the gates of the park, by order of the mayor Paolo Truzzu. But everything went smoothly.
