In Calasetta there is no general practitioner. A situation that has been going on since August 1st, and now a citizens' committee has decided to turn to a lawyer to lodge an appeal with the Cagliari court to find a solution. The hearing is scheduled for November 26.

In the Municipality, with 2,900 inhabitants, there were three general practitioners on duty until 31 July. On 1 August one retired but the Assl did not appoint a replacement and his 800-900 patients were diverted to the other two still in service but both, in a very short time, reached the expected ceiling.

"One of the doctors - reads the appeal - was also under an agreement for Sant'Antioco and therefore had to be divided between two clinics, all with consequent repercussions for users and in general for the residents of Calasetta". So a group of 32 citizens relied on the lawyer Roberto Cao to solicit the Ats, but the letter had no effect. In August 2021, the two doctors who operated in Calasetta also left their position. Since then, patients have been forced to move to Carloforte, traveling by ferry to reach the island of San Pietro.

Numerous protests by both the mayor and the inhabitants, and among them the son an 88-year-old woman who was left without assistance. The commissioner of the health protection company will respond to him by inviting him to contact the medical guard on duty two days a week, on Mondays and Fridays.
