The mayor of Ozieri, Marco Peralta, speaks of a slap in the face to the health of citizens , after the announcement of the temporary night closure of the emergency room of the Antonio Segni hospital .

«Like last year during the Christmas holidays, in short, a film already seen - declared the mayor -. Another closure that is highly penalizing for citizens, who are paying the price for the structural disarticulations of Sardinian healthcare ."

«It is necessary to restore the service as soon as possible, because it is not possible to close an emergency room due to the lack of a few doctors while other hospitals have many others who could make up for their temporary shortage - concluded Peralta -. This is an absolute priority for citizens because, I want to remind you, healthcare does not belong to the doctors or public companies that manage it but to the patients who use it."

«All widely expected, the so-called suburban hospitals continue to be considered children of a lesser God », comments regional councilor Daniele Cocco .

«I understand that at the Sassari emergency room there are 25 doctors in the emergency room plus seven doctors in the emergency medicine department, therefore for a total of 32 doctors in a single complex structure - continues Cocco -. This means that operationally 32 doctors rotate in the Urgency/emergency service of the emergency room of the Aou of Sassari".
«I am sure that in an emergency situation like that of the Ozieri Emergency Department, a collaboration between two companies can be envisaged, providing the availability of personnel capable of guaranteeing the continuation of an essential service in a heavily penalized territory - concludes Cocco -. I ask Councilor Doria for a very urgent intervention in this sense to avoid the continuation of what has been announced , the situation is becoming extremely unsustainable." Cocco also announced the presentation of an urgent question.
