An investment of over 3 million euros with repercussions of over 20 million .

These are the Region's economic forecasts for the Sardinian New Year , with the island a candidate to be "the first region in Italy for number of events", underlines Tourism Councillor Franco Cuccureddu in the presentation of the programme of events that will accompany the arrival of 2026: 18 events with 18 squares involved, 6 with security plans for more than 10,000 people, 12 with security plans for more than 3,000, therefore up to 5,000 and more .

It is estimated that " over 200,000 people will arrive in the Sardinian squares, if the weather is good ."

The Region's investment is over €3 million: "We believe we can recoup it with just nine-tenths of the VAT, because the direct impact will likely be over €20 million, estimating €100 per person out of the estimated 200,000 people who will be present. So , from the VAT alone, the Region will recoup what is a real investment, not just a financial contribution ."

The events, which are funded at approximately 50% of the total costs, will be accompanied by TV advertising campaigns: Mediaset networks will broadcast the ad, which will also be shown at 80,000 cinemas throughout Italy. A digital marketing campaign is also planned, involving major European newspapers and news portals, especially in locations and cities served by air links to Sardinia.

Music will be in the streets from north to south of the island, and not just in the major cities. Two contribution bands are planned, depending on the expected audience size according to the safety plan: six municipalities are in Band A (Alghero, Arzachena, Cagliari, Castelsardo, Olbia, and Sassari), while 12 are in Band B.

Here is the detailed program of events.
