Announced, countersigned and now published in Buras, the official bulletin: the program agreement on the new Cagliari stadium between the Region and the Municipality is now executive and effective. A formal transition, announced by governor Christian Solinas.

«With the signature and publication on Buras, upon completion of the bureaucratic process, the project for the construction of the new stadium which will be named after Gigi Riva becomes definitively operational», he underlines.

The Region contributes, with a total allocation of 50 million euros, to the construction of the new stadium according to the standards required by international competitions.

The funds are distributed as follows: 3 million euros on the regional budget for the year 2023, 15 for 2024, 12 for the year 2025 and 20 million for the following year.

«Finally», said Solinas, «a new space that is up to par, for Sardinia and for the support that the Sardinians can give to their favorite team».

The Municipality of Cagliari, we read in the document, «undertakes to support the financial costs referred to in the economic-financial plan of its competence, manage the technical/administrative procedural process connected to the approval of the design and the implementation of the intervention in compliance of the reference regulatory provisions, monitoring and ensuring compliance with the timetable formally approved in accordance with the timescales assigned by the UEFA Executive Committee" in view of Euro 2032. Furthermore, "it undertakes to present to the Region at the end of the intervention, a final report which acknowledges the results achieved and the methods of use of the resources transferred in implementation of the program agreement".
