"It was launched last Tuesday - and will continue until June 30th -

the delivery of the first batch of 109 new Hill-Rom electric beds (126 in total) intended to replace the now obsolete mechanical ones of the San Francesco di Nuoro Hospital, but also San Camillo di Sorgono, Zonchello Pneumology and Macomer Rehabilitation » .

This was announced by the ASL, in a note, which reads: «The first wards of the San Francesco which, on Tuesday 20, were able to benefit from a quantity of beds in

continuous electrical operation commensurate with the age of the current equipment, the case history of patients and the qualitative and quantitative characteristics of the assistance personnel, were: General Surgery, Otorhinolaryngology, Urology, Vascular Surgery and Hematology. Three new beds also at the

Pneumology of the Cesare Zonchello Hospital».

«Today – continues the ASL – it will be the turn of Neurosurgery, Neurology, Geriatrics and Infectious Diseases. This is to guarantee the comfort of the patients and the safety of their operators, given that most of the patients hospitalized in these care-intensive wards are confined to bed for more or less long periods of time, and it was decided to make less the "forced rest" of the patients is heavy".

In the next few days, until the end of the month, delivery to the missing wards of San Francesco, but also to the Medicine of the San Camillo di Sorgono Hospital and to the physical rehabilitation facility of Macomer (Nuraghe Ruiu Polyclinic) is expected.

The new Hill-Rom electric beds will have an extraordinary impact on the well-being of both patients and healthcare personnel, making it easier to move these beds which will be regulated using the push-button panels located on the sides of the bed. In addition to comfort, mobilization also has positive effects on health, reducing the risk of infections, pressure sores and promoting blood circulation. The new electric beds improve the work of nurses and health workers, with the aim of facilitating their assistance by reducing the risk of manual handling of loads. Even the transport of beds from one room to another - towards radiology and operating rooms, for example - will be favored by greater lightness and manageability.

«The beds with which the structure was equipped – explains Paolo Cannas , Director General of ASL n. 3 in Nuoro – were not all inadequate for the type of user, but the replacement, already envisaged, is part of the company's program of adaptation and technological innovation of the electromedical equipment, also because this type of bed is able to guarantee better comfort for patients and better care possibilities for operators ».
