The new Cagliari stadium receives the approval of the decision-making services conference of the Municipality convened today to discuss the technical additions to the project requested by Cagliari football. In addition to the approval from the municipal administration, a positive opinion was also given by the Fire Brigade, the Local Health Authority, and all the bodies involved, starting with those dedicated to safety. This was the last administrative act of the municipality.

Now, in fact, only the last bureaucratic piece is missing before being able to call the international tender (which the Municipality must do) and give life to the new plant: the environmental impact assessment, which could arrive already at the end of the year, which must give the Region (Environment Department) and that at this point it seems just a formality. Then, the future of the new stadium is linked to the fate of the (political) match of the 50 million that the Region has already allocated (in the regional coffers of Public Works) but which must be transferred to the Municipality.

And for this a council resolution will be needed. The dream is to start construction at the end of 2024: it will take two years (730 continuous days, without interruptions) to build the new stadium. Cagliari and Sardinia are waiting.
