«My car seized for two days due to a parking ban in Cagliari: expenses, inconvenience and a lot of humiliation»
The car was taken away by the tow truck on Saturday evening and returned on Monday at 10am "because they don't work on Sundays and today is San Saturnino"Per restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
«They confiscated my car for two days, without the possibility of collecting it even though I paid for everything. A humiliation that I really don't wish on anyone, it seems like a nightmare to me . Which cost me almost 250 euros ." This is the complaint from Andrea Zuddas, a 47-year-old resident of Uta who on Saturday afternoon parked his car in a no-parking zone in Largo Carlo Felice , in Cagliari. When he returned, the vehicle was no longer there. «And that's okay, because if I'm wrong I take all responsibility . It was around 8.30pm, so I went by taxi to the Viale Monastir depot to repair the damage. But nothing to be done: gates barred. The opening hours are from Monday to Saturday, from 8am to 8pm. So I understood that my car would remain there on Sunday too", explains Zuddas.
But among many things, there were also the house keys to be recovered from the passenger compartment «and I couldn't leave them there. Furthermore, I have animals waiting for me, so I had to find a solution", continues the man who, out of desperation - after having searched in vain for a number to contact - called the Local Police. «1 hour of waiting, then they gave me the ok to take my things and I returned to Uta, by taxi».
But beyond the damage, comes the insult. «This morning I went to collect the vehicle but upon my arrival I learned that - as it was a holiday - they would open two hours later. There was an endless line of people out there in the same situation as me. I couldn't go to work, it was humiliating and unacceptable." The cost of this odyssey? «Between one thing and another, also counting the two days of custody of the vehicle, the total was 149.83 euros. To which are added those spent on weekend "buffer" transport".
Zuddas speaks of an «authorized shame»: «They don't work on Sunday. So not only am I left stranded, without basic necessities, but they also ask me to pay for childcare. They seized my vehicle for two days, and this has happened to many like me. We can no longer ignore a similar situation, we need immediate solutions."
