An immediate trial could be requested for Igor Sollai , the truck driver from San Sperate accused of killing his wife , Francesca Deidda , and hiding her body in the mountains of San Priamo, along the Orientale Sarda, closed in a gym bag. For investigators, the key evidence of the alleged responsibility of the 43-year-old from San Sperate would come from two plants of " viburnum lucida ", an evergreen species that grows quickly and can reach five meters in height, found (with the clod still attached to the roots) right in the spot where the body of his wife, who vanished into thin air on May 10, was hidden.
The very fact that those two plants had nothing to do with the rest of the Mediterranean scrub and that they still had that clod attached to them pushed the investigators to search the entire area around the point where the body was. Walking along a path that runs alongside a metal fence, the carabinieri - coordinated by the prosecutor Marco Cocco - thus found a crevice that hid some bins (it seems that traces of water were found inside) and two plastic vases compatible with the searches.
This, for the investigators, would be the star evidence. From the barcodes on the vases it was discovered that the items were purchased on May 15 in Elmas with the haulier's credit card.
