Muravera, the mystery of the boat: perhaps abandoned by migrants from Bangladesh

The mystery remains around the discovery of the eleven-meter wooden barge on the beach of San Giovanni in Muravera.

The carabinieri of the local station and of the operational unit of the Compagnia di San Vito carried out checks on the territory in search of any non-EU citizens who could have landed on the coast and then abandoned the boat, without engine, with empty fuel containers and with various clothing.

A wallet with a document belonging to a young man from Bangladesh was also recovered. The military patrolled the area, questioned several people. Nobody saw anything.

Tragedy is not excluded either, just as it is possible that the occupants of the boat landed elsewhere, abandoning it adrift.
