Investigations by the Port Authority of La Maddalena are continuing to ascertain the causes of the tragic accident which yesterday involved a Fisherman motorboat on the Isola della Bisce, near Caprera . The boat ended up against the rocks and in the – very violent – impact two people lost their lives, while two others were seriously injured.

The victims are Tommy Di Chello, a 38-year-old from Golfo Aranci, and Giacomo Botte, a Neapolitan . Another resident of Golfo Aranci – Carlo Nieddu – suffered a facial trauma, the fourth boater several fractures.

The alarm was raised by two sport fishermen, including a soldier from the Guardia di Finanza free from service. The two were aboard a dinghy nearby, they have

heard the crash and alerted the Captaincy.

There was nothing they could do for Di Chello and Botte, their companions were rushed to hospital.

As mentioned, an investigation has been launched into the incident, coordinated by the prosecutor of Tempio Nadia La Femina.

An attempt is being made to ascertain, among other things, what caused the collision: Di Chello and his companions, who went out on a motorboat for a fishing trip, in fact knew the sea of the La Maddalena archipelago (where a another serious accident on a boat ) and it wasn't the first time they practiced excursions there. Visibility, moreover, was not prohibitive.

Di Chello, a gardener and sea and fishing enthusiast, leaves behind a six-year-old girl.
