No rest for heroes. And not even money, if they are Sardinian, they work as precarious workers in health care and were protagonists of the period of the "epic battle" against Covid.
The nasty surprise came with the paycheck. They, hired precisely to strengthen the ranks of the fight against the virus, have not been credited with the productivity salary, the promised allowance for 2021 linked to work in the ward during the worst period of the pandemic.
The trade unions denounce it. «Incredible», for Giampaolo Mascia and Paolo Cugliara of Fials, «we are receiving reports from nurses, oss, physiotherapists, technicians and administrative staff, no professional figure excluded, who communicate this terrible hoax to us. They are all indignant and visibly annoyed at having been considered employees of minor or no importance".
The previous year the award had been given to everyone: «It's easy to forget those who were pompously defined as "heroes"» , accuse the two trade unionists. “What is this discrimination due to?” ask Cugliara and Mascia at the top of Sardinian health care.
The representatives of CGIL, CISL and UIL follow the same line: "We are witnessing yet another shameful injustice to the detriment of workers of the regional health service", respectively Roberta Gessa, Massimo Cinus and Fulvia Murru, who have already turned to the Department of Health: the offices communicated that "given the state emergency allocations which did not fully cover the quotas of resources necessary to ensure the correct application of all the contractual institutions, including productivity, the additional resources had to be allocated by the Regions ».
For this reason, the representatives of the triple health sector are asking the "Regional Government and the Council, which is discussing Omnibus 2 these days, to immediately make available the necessary sums to also allow workers hired specifically to deal with to the pandemic, to have recognized the same rights as their colleagues".
