The fire that broke out yesterday afternoon in the Is Argiddas countryside near Monastir has been extinguished. Forestry helicopters from the Villasalto and Fenosu bases also responded yesterday, carrying out several water drops.

Forestry officials and the Cagliari fire brigade were also on site until late at night, and the flames were finally extinguished before midnight. Several hectares of land were damaged.

The firefighting operations were coordinated by the Dolianova Forestry Station's DOS (Department of Fire and Rescue). Investigations are now underway to determine the origin of the fire and any culprits . Flames also spread to the countryside around Quartu and Monserrato, prompting interventions by the Fire Department.
