As per tradition, it is the delivery of the Golden Potato that opens the annual edition of the Monastir Potato Festival . The recognition rewards citizens who have distinguished themselves for their commitment to the country's community.

For 2023, the two illustrious citizens are Luciano Coccodi and Patrizia Utzeri . The first of the two, represented by his daughter Adelina upon delivery, obtained the Golden Potato for the effort in the entrepreneurial sector . Patrizia Utzeri, on the other hand, was awarded for her social commitment , as president of Avis of Monastir.

«To them», reads a social post from the Municipality, «our heartfelt thanks for their daily work for our country ».
