A slap to culture. A tear from the images that once embellished the historic center of the town. In Mogoro the vandals have left their signatures in via Goldoni and in via Funtanabella. They tore up fifteen photographs installed some time ago as part of the BifotoFest initiative born on the initiative of Stefano Pia and Vittorio Cannas, with the aim of promoting photographic culture thanks to the presence of shots by international artists.

A considerable damage from an economic point of view and a lot of disappointment on the part of the mayor Donato Cau: «It is clear that the situation is out of control. It is clear that we are facing a social unease. Anyone who has acted in this way has harmed the community and himself. After this story, we administrators also have to ask ourselves many questions. Why do these things happen to Mogoro? For what reason? What can we do? What's wrong? One thing is certain, however: the young people who have committed themselves to the good of the country by setting up this now famous exhibition must not give up».

Stefano Pia, one of the two authors of the permanent exhibition which houses a total of 400 photos, is angry: «Our idea and our dream is to create tourism also thanks to the shots that embellish the town, but all this disappoints us. It is a wound for us but for all citizens. There is a need for collaboration. Those who know must speak up, those who know must contact the police who immediately investigate the incident. Stefano Pia already anticipates what will be done in the spaces where many dangling photos are now on display: «We will not leave empty spaces - he explains - We will print and hang the images again. Over the years, our permanent exhibition has become a destination for many photographers. We are ready to install more images next June. These episodes do not intimidate us ».
