Millionaire hole, the Board of Directors of the Sardinia Film Commission: «The Region distributes money without merit and abandons the institution»
Fiery note from the outgoing councilors. And also the dismissal of a manager who had criticized the decisions of the BoardPer restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
In the coffers of the Fondazione Sardegna Film Commission there is a hole of 1.3 million euros "attributable to the previous management. We will not go into the merits of why this hole was created: it will be up to other subjects to evaluate whether the director operated according to the criterion of the "good father of the family". But the center-left government of the Region "despite having, with the August 2024 maneuver, a significant sum to program (more than 500 million euros), has not found the resources to allocate to cover that shortfall".
The Foundation's outgoing board members, Michela Pirrigheddu, Giorgio Ariu and Elisabetta Mocci, are disappointed: they sign a long document in which they criticize the management of the previous director but also attack the Regional Council led by Alessandra Todde. They explain that "in the law that has planned a good 500 million euros, there are many beneficiaries of "contributions indiscriminately", the logic of which is certainly not meritocracy or the well-being of the Sardinians, on the contrary. Specific and particular recipients, well identified, far from the public interest and light years away from how public money should be spent".
With regret and disappointment, they add, "we note that neither the President of the Region nor the Councilor for Public Education, although aware of the seriousness of the situation and the need to remedy it immediately, have wanted to meet, not even once, the current Board of Directors, despite the various letters sent requesting a meeting."
Even on July 24, with a resolution of the Regional Council, a new Board of Directors had been appointed: a provision that was corrected in recent days, because it included positions that could not be assigned. The regional executive had indicated the name of the new president (an appointment under the jurisdiction of the Board of Directors) and had indicated a woman in the Board who was incompatible with the role. A mess (to which was added an incorrect timing: the Board of Directors should have remained in office until 180 days after the installation of the new Regional Council) which even the director of the department, Renato Serra, who was a general councilor in the Foundation, had something to say about : at the end of July he had reported the critical points of the provision (which in fact was then revised) and, in response, he was replaced. Illegitimately: even on the revocation of his position he had written to councilor Ilaria Portas, explaining that he should have remained until the one hundred and eightieth day after the installation of the Regional Council. "It is clear," Serra argued, "that the decree is flawed by illegitimacy and, as such, voidable. I hope that, in compliance with the current regulations, you agree on the inappropriateness of wanting to maintain an illegitimate act and that you order its revocation, in self-defense."
Portas did not back down. And yesterday the torpedo of the outgoing Board of Directors also arrived, which speaks of an attitude of "intimidation" by the councilor, who had imposed to stick only to ordinary administration.
