The project has been extended by the Ministry of Justice until next year, but the Region's goal is to transform the Local Offices into a stable model, an integral part of the public services network. This model is built on the needs of local communities, requiring investments in infrastructure, training, and technology, along with a vision that places the individual, the community, and proximity as a political and cultural principle at the center.
This is what emerged today in Milis during the meeting entitled "Proximity Offices between present and future."
"The Proximity Offices represent the Region's way of being close to its citizens," said Regional President Alessandra Todde. "This project stems from a simple yet revolutionary idea: to bring essential justice services to our communities, especially those farthest from major centers. It is a gesture of territorial justice and respect for individuals and their lives. This model works because it responds to the need to bridge distances, not only geographically but also in bureaucratic and interpersonal relationships," President Todde continued. "Behind every office are faces, stories, and people seeking answers on sensitive issues such as inheritance, guardianship, support administration, and authorizations for minors, and who find a human and competent point of reference."
The Local Offices represent a concrete service, built around the needs of individuals and their communities, added Vice President Giuseppe Meloni. "They are a sign of an administration that listens and reaches out to citizens, especially those living far from urban centers and requiring rapid, humane responses."
Sardinia is currently among the most advanced in the piloting of Proximity Offices, a project launched by the Public Administration to bring justice closer to citizens, reducing distances and simplifying access procedures to voluntary jurisdiction services. With 21 active offices in 105 Sardinian municipalities, the Offices currently represent a widespread network that is establishing itself as a best practice benchmark for other regions as well. The offices are distributed throughout Sardinia: 9 offices in the Cagliari district, 2 in Oristano, 1 in Lanusei, 4 in Nuoro, 2 in Sassari, and 3 in Tempio Pausania, ensuring broad territorial coverage across the various judicial districts.
