A fruit and vegetable trader from Milis was arrested by the Carabinieri of Narbolia because he was found in possession of 14 kilos of marijuana.

Alessandro Mastino, 37, appeared in court this morning in Oristano for the validation hearing. Through his defense attorney, Simone Prevete, he asked to negotiate a suspended sentence with the agreement of prosecutor Armando Mammone. The sentence was then set by judge Silvia Palmas at ten months and twenty days in prison, with a fine of 2,800 euros. At the end of the hearing, during which the arrest was validated, the 27-year-old was released.

The operation was launched in recent days, after a house search carried out by the military of Narbolia: 24 heat-sealed bags of hemp were found in the trader's home. A narcotic substance that the young man declared he had kept for an acquaintance.
